Homings.de began in 2014 when I rented out 35 apartments to a Chinese company that came for an exhibition in Hannover, Germany. I was not sure how to manage this but I confirmed upfront that I would deliver. I was managing everything in an excel file and took pictures of every apartment by myself. It was summer in Germany so I drove around with my car and showed all the apartments to the guests. It was a great success, so I decided to take this to the next level. With a few hickups here and there. So happened when I gave the job of creating the first Homings website to an Indian company that ripped me off and didn’t finish the job in order to ask for more money than agreed. The frustration was so high that I buried the idea and didn’t continue for many years. After a while, my beautiful wife encouraged me to dig out the idea of the website again, so I started to contact multiple companies who could potentially finish the website. Without success. Now in 2022, I finally found the right person who recommended to build everything from scratch and go for it.
The result can be seen. We created a place where hosts and travelers choose to create a free homings account so they can list their space and book great accommodations all around the world.
Homings aims for a safe and smooth transaction for everybody. It helps make sharing easy, enjoyable and safe. Users need to be verified, the messaging system is comfortable to handle so hosts and guests can communicate with certainty, and manage a trusted platform to collect and transfer payments through various gateways
